Once an appliance has passed, it has a barcoded test tag is
placed next to the male plug of the flexible lead. This barcode
allows for correlation to your testing and tagging data that is
kept on our database giving you a detailed asset register with
ease. This test tag shows that the appliance has been tested and
is safe and ready for use.
Safety of your employees and customers is paramount. We
therefore have a strict set of guidelines for our technicians to
follow when testing and tagging appliances.

possible, the physical removal of the item from service and the
application of a Danger tag to the appliance. All failed items

Electrical Safety Information
Failure Rates
We generally find that 1.5% to 2% of all appliances that we test
are un safe. Most of these faulty appliances have the potential
to cause electric shock, electrocution, or electrical fire.
New to Service
Tags
We can also supply New to Service tags.
Newly purchased items do not need to be tested upon purchase;
however they do need to be tagged upon introduction to the
workplace to indicate when they are required to be tested next.
The benefits of asset owners attaching an NTS tag to new items
at the time of introduction are:
Users can be assured that the "new" status of an
installed item is guaranteed and cannot be confused with
an untagged item.
The individual responsible for testing and tagging items
at the site would be certain that the item is new to
service and was not omitted from a previous round of
tests.
The individual responsible for testing and tagging items
has all newly introduced items conveniently tagged with
an appliance number and appliance number bar code, which
speeds up the test procedure.
ATS Asset
Tracking System
As a part of the ATS Appliance Testing and Tagging process, all
electrical appliances are tagged with an individually numbered
identifiable bar code for continual identification purposes.
This creates an asset register and a database of all appliances
tested.
The database contains the following information on each asset:
Appliance bar code identity;
Description / serial number (if required);
Location:
ATS Technician Name;
Inspection Test Date;
Next Inspection Test Date;
Results of Inspection / Test;
Comments
All data collected is integrated into one centrally administered
database, the ATS Asset Tracking System, which offers the
following benefits:
National
database across all sites – never lose track of an item
again!
Implementation of electronic Asset register and
monitoring process;
Reduced Data entry, paperwork, and management time;
Reduction in overall expenditure;
A transparent management process of the contractor,
pricing & quality control;
Accelerated data return, & analysis of all bar coded,
and tested electrical assets;
Professional services provided by one contractor;
Prompt courteous service, 24 hours a day by our ETS
engineers in full distinctive ETS uniform; and
Improved operational efficiency.
ATS will provide you with this data in a format suitable for
your requirements.
ATS Repair and
Replacement Service
ATS can replace onsite failed
items such as computer IEC leads and Plug Tops
at a reasonable cost.
Extension leads can be repaired or replaced.
Power-boards with RCD and surge protections can also be supplied
at competitive rates.
Ongoing equipment
maintenance
Just because an item is tagged does not mean it is safe until
the next test date. The tag simply shows that on the date of
testing, the item complied with safety requirements.
Simply seeing a tag does not relieve you or your staff from an
ongoing obligation to make sure the item continues to be safe.
If it is damaged in any obvious way, have it taken out of
service, repaired and re-tested before being re-introduced to
service, and mark the actions you have taken in your equipment
records.
Data Management
Have you thought about
how you want to receive your data to make it
truly useful to your business? ATS can provide you with hard
copy, email or CD copies of your data in the format to suit your
requirements.
