Yes! The current building and electrical wiring regulations specify RCD’s are to be installed on all circuits in all new installations and also where any changes to the electrical installation have been made.
WHS regulations specify RCD’s are to be installed (and regularly tested) in all circuits in hostile environments. A hostile environment is one where heat, dust, corrosion, moisture or vibration may be present. Additionally, any installed RCD’s are also to be regularly tested.
